CLAMP FOR EARTHING HIGH VOLTAGE LINES
The ARO-Trap is an important tool for the maintenance of high-voltage lines.
The ARO-Trap ensures the safety of maintenance staff during service work.
If the high-voltage line has to be taken out of service for this work, the authorised person will carry out the following tasks:
Applications
- At both ends of the line (in switching stations), the line is disconnected from the network and laid on the ground in accordance with the short-circuit safe rules.
- After this, on both sides of the service location, the line must be laid locally on the ground. The ARO-Trap was designed for this purpose.
How to use the ARO-Trap
The ARO-Trap (weight 2.6 kg) can easily be carried by the person climbing the mast. After the ARO-Trap has been securely attached to the grounding cable in the crossbeam of the mast, the opened ARO-Trap is pushed down using the grounding cable. As soon as the Trap touches the line (or the earth contact on the line), it will fold down and clamp itself to the short-circuit-safe around the conductor. After completion of the service work, the ARO-Trap can be removed simply by pulling the grounding cable
By pulling, the Staircase folds open again and can be removed.
